    Tighten every fastener on your skates as much as you feel comfortable with. And if you buy new frames, they usually come with wall spacers and wheel spacers, so use the hardware that comes with your frames and metal buckles are usually a bit noisy. I run plastic buckles on my Mesmers.

    I almost give up on inline skates. I think I wanna switch to skateboard. After a YEAR with no progress at all. I work at the restaurant 6 days a week day to night so I only have 1 day a week to practice inline skating. At first I taught it was my posture and strength. Maybe it is. Tons of video I watched on yt all about posture. I never taught it was my skates size. A lot of people (on the internet) recommend to buy skates one size up my normal shoes and I do that. I never find this video until today. Year after no progression. When you talk about firm handshake mine didnt feel like it. More like a lose handshake on the front. I never take out the liners out my skates because there's no use for me. Today my first time I take it out and try it without the liner and my god that's way too big! It's like the one on your thumbnail. I never blame my skates before because I taught it's normally feel like that. Others practice inline skating for only two weeks and skates like a pro on week 3 while im still like a baby even after 1 full year! Rn I'm tryna sell my current skates for cheap and get one suitable for my size.

    I have super super wide flat feet. I ended up being recommended some pretty big FR1 skates to get the larger shell. I think it is actually FRs largest shell so I would have the smallest liner in the largest shell. I have the stock FR1 liners and orthotic insoles from my snowboard boots that were custom made. In the end I still had issues with the width and heat gunned the crap out of my arch and outside edge of my boot to help with this. Now as I am skating better and more I do not have much foot pain but I am getting some heel lift. Other than adding some boomerangs on the heel area is there anything to do to take up some room between boot and liner? Are there thick AF intuition type liners that I could mold into the correct fit?

    I just got my Houdini Evos from you guys. They're really nice skates! They fit great - nice and snug without any pressure points. I'm a shoe size 42, and the Fila website advises that your skate size match your shoe size. I'm glad I went with your size recommendation (40) instead, because a size 42 would definitely have been huge on me. One thing I know from playing ice hockey as a kid is that having skates that are too big for you is a good way to ensure that you won't ever really skate well and your feet or ankles will probably hurt too because you'll overtighten your laces. If you're in contact with Fila, maybe you could advise them to stop telling people to get skates that are too big for them.

    Honestly the only backpack I can recommand is the Montain Bike bag Osprey Syncro 12 or 20 liters. You can tight it well, has a camelbak, lot of pockets and the back is ventilated. You cannot put your skates inside and it is expensive on the other hand. But if like me you need to carry tools, lights, medical kit, speaker, water, shoes, cones, lightweight jacket, etc... It is my preferred bag so far.

    While Skating with heavy or large bag can cause balance issues, especially if you're doing tricks, it is generally fine for commuting. For those doing a lot of tricks, I would recommend the Osprey Daylite or similar bag. I can carry a water bladder and other essentials and the bag is so small and form fitting to the back I almost don't notice it there. It also has a waist strap which is great for jumps so the backpack doesn't bump around your back when you jump.

    • @seblanoue

  • @derbastilian
    @derbastilian 8 дней назад

    I think it very much depends. I would not ever recommend any beginner to skate with a backpack. The main problem is that a backpack impacts your balance in unpredictable ways and as a beginner that always ends in a fall. I would also not recommend to go vert skating with a backpack. But if you are an experienced skater, a backpack will still impact your balance, but you are much more capable of counteracting. I think to outright say "don't skate with a backpack" is not good. Maybe a video on how to safely skate with a backpack would be better. For example, most important when skating with a backpack aside from the obvious protection is to use one that can be tightly strapped on and choose one that sits comfortably and puts the centre of gravity on your lower back, to impact the balance less. Also, don't strap on anything to your backpack, and make sure that weight is evenly distributed. Strapping on skates or just a water bottle are a no go.

    I LOVE the innovation in this video and in this channel. Being creative and resourceful is fantastic. All the applications here seem fine, except that for removing the logo/decal or the new-wheel shine, an angle grinder is overkill. For that, I recommend instead using sandpaper, whether on a sanding block, or using an orbital sander.
